Typically human labour is used when handling such fragile products. The use of automation or solutions based in robotization in the food industry is not new, but is not normally available to all companies. Thanks to the thoughtful design, including the layout of the technological unit, a solution emerged whose price was competitive. At the same time, this solution can be customized in case of changing bar parameters within the scope of automation and technical options.

The solution is conceived as a workplace using 3 FANUC M-2iA/3SL delta robots with the HandlingTool extension. They are firmly placed on anchor frames about 2,000 mm above the bar conveyor. A batch of 40 sticks is moved every 8 seconds onto the bar conveyor.
The robots are fitted with vacuum suction cups on their arms to grab two sticks at a time. Robot grippers are controlled by pneumatic valves. Sticks are stored in plastic blisters, which are delivered to the robots from an automatic dispenser and then shipped to the customer's flowpack. The work place operates at 320 pcs/min.
